    St. MARTIN'S PLACE, W.C.2.

                                                                     10th April, 1931.

                Dear Kitson,
At the meeting yesterday the Trustees
would not have the portrait of Cotman so I have
written to the Solicitor, Mr.J.G.Kingford Smale
at 2, Princes Square, Harrogate, and said that it is
not required and will he send me instructions for
                 disposal.
I am sorry they would not have it but there
                 was nothing to be done.
                                                                  Yours sincerely

                                                                           H.M.HAKE
