you to read a good deal, it is very good advice and which advice I must follow for I find myself so very deficient in what is requisite for every one to understand it vexes me much, but why should I trouble you with my little inconveniences? have you not the same to put up with that I have? Yes: I know you have, then the only thing for us to do, is to do as well as we can and to rest satisfied, undoubtedly we shall get through the world as well as the most learned. I am now going on in a very foolish way so as neither to gratify you nor me, so I will finish and wishing you health and happiness, remain my dear John
    Your affectionate Sister
    A. Cotman.
