[Letter from Mr Cotman, the artist, to Messrs Todd, York - written in a different hand)]
/
Feb: 13th 1822 Yarmouth
Sir,
I recieved two days since the favour of your letter containing the sum of seven Guineas - which I I have [laced to the credit of Mr a Yarburgh ? Esq- My being from home prevented me the pleasure of answering it before this date.
Your letter brings to my recollection one that I recieved from you when abroad - respecting some numbers of an early publication of mine - as I flatter myself that I stand quite clear of any debt to your House - I beg you will consider any numbers of mine on your hands as yours - as no account, whatsoever will be made of them against you.
With my sincere thanks for your exertions in my favour at all times, I am, Sir,
Your obliged & humble servant,
J.S.Cotman
