Addressed to W. Stevenson, Esqr.
Yarmouth April 29th 1817
Dear Sir,
When I wrote to you about a Month sincee(sic), I expected to have been very soon in Norwich, when I meant to have done myself the pleasure of waiting upon you, and to have consulted with you as I then proposed, about the titles of the Ely Plates - finding that too inconvenient for me I refered to Mr. Dawson Turner, who gave me the Names as they now stand which I have no doubt will be found sufficiently accurate.
The Plates being finished, I have ventured to send you twenty copies, on sale or return - under the impression should they be required for on this publication of your Book, they will be ready to your hand - And at any time you may find it necessary to send an order for more (Which I am not vain enough to suppose will be the case) - I shall be most happy to execute your commands.
I am Sir
Your obliged and Obedient. Serv8an8t.
John S. Cotman.
