    Drawer No. 1 - 'J. S. COTMAN'
    *(1) The Geldart 'Via Mala', & his letter.
    (2-18) and 17 Chalk drawings by J.S.C., purchased from J.J.C by J. Downes, artist, of Norwich, who subsequently sold them to J.J. Colman.
    These drawings are mostly on stone grey paper. No notes, very like R.H.K’s- but mostly larger c. 14 x 11. Important.

    Drawer No. 2 - 'J. S. COTMAN'
    (1) Normandy Sepia 'Cleft Rocks'. 10½ x 15¾. Hard. (I have photo.)
    *** (2) Dark Trees- ‘purchased from Mrs King, who had it from J.J.C. 6¾ x 8¾. (I have photo.)
    (3-19) and, 17 Chalk drawings as in drawer 1. Mostly, I think, studies in Gunton Park. In the very few instances where colour notes are made, they are in J.S.C’s writing. Mostly 14 x 11.

    Drawer No. 3 - 'J. S. COTMAN'
    Drawings which belonged to J. J. C. He pledged them to Mr Samuel, pawnbroker, Norwich. He sold them Nov. 11, 1880 at Speilman's sale. J. J. Colman bought them.
    **(1) The Road above the Gorge. bk. & wh. chalk on blue grey paper. 13½ x 9⅞. Late.
