Description
Volume VIII contains many diary entries, together with some correspondence and cuttings from newspapers and other sources. Among the events recorded by Kitson are his visits to see the Russell Colman collection at Crown Point, Norwich (with an extensive list of its works), Cotman's house in Yarmouth, and the collection of John S. Cotman near Reading; an exhibition at the Ashmolean Museum that included seventeen works by Cotman; Kitson's presentation to the Royal Institute of British Architects library of about 150 letters addressed to Sir William Chambers; and the recent transformation of Leeds Art Gallery.
