Barker also has 7 family oil portraits John Cotman & his
wife, etc in 'The Turner Family'. They belonged to
his grandfather R. H. Inglis Palgrave.
He also has a chalk head & shoulders of a man playing the
flute. Tom Brightwen. "J.G [Joseph Geldart]
March 23, 1836."
He also has many volumes of correspondence bound up,
mostly letters of the Palgraves to D. T. & Hudson Gurney
to Sir F.P. etc.

March 17, 1931. Called at Meatyard's, the day we
sailed in 'The Samaria' on the Dalmation cruise.
He was selling on commission the collection of a doctor
collector, the following Cotmans.
(1) A landscape with a castle (?Framlingham) trees
left, figure foreground centre, pencil. 9 3/4 x 13 1/4.
c 1829-30, fine drawing, rather spotted; ex coll:
Sir E. Poynter. P.R.A (Walker's mount.)

(2) Fishing boat centre, 3 masted brig behind, sailing
boat right, pencil. 7 5/8 x 10 1/8. good drawing
