Written on same sheet of paper as preceding.

    Dear Sir,
I wished myself to assure you how much we are all pleased with the Etchings you so kindly send us, and how much we value them not only on account of their own merit, but as a testimony of the regard of one for whom we shall ever feel the truest esteem and friendship. We are all well, and very happy here. Katharine is grown very fat, and better looking than she ever was. Harriet is grown quite stout too, and I thank God bears her bitter loss wonderfully. We have had the comfort of experiencing the greatest kindness and most flattering attentions from all our friends, and of finding our future plans almost universally approved. My two little nephews are lively
