S.D. Kitson Esq.,
Kidlington,
Nr. Oxford.
Dear Sir,
We have just had a visit from Mr. Cecil Hunt, who very kindly mentioned your name as being keenly interested in Early English Water-Colour Drawings in general and in the work of John Sell Cotman in particular.
We are enclosing a Catalogue of an Exhibition which we are holding and which will be open until the 21st. June.
Mr. Hunt was very enthusiastic about the Exhibition and made particular reference to exhibits numbered 8,9,11 and 31 and he was quite impressed with the value of the Cotman[s.]
Will you regard this letter in the light of a very cordial invitation to the Exhibition and should circumstances not permit of your paying a personal visit, perhaps you might like to have the Cotman sent on to you for your inspection.
Yours faithfully,
W. HEFFER & SONS LIMITED.
