    Letter to Kitson from Jack W. Goodison, 28 July 1931

    Goodison thanks Kitson for information concerning the Fitzwilliam Museum's Cotman, the Wreck of the Houghton Hall Pictures [see fol. 4r of this volume]. With reference to one of the Museum's drawings and another in the Bulwer Collection, he asks if Cotman ever repeated his compositions.

    Dear Mr. Kitson,
    Very many thanks for your letter, with all its information about Cotman. I am especially interested to hear about the "Wreck of the Houghton Hall pictures," about which we had no information at all previously. It was very good of you, too, to make such long extracts from Cotman's letters for me.
    Cockerell's very sorry to have missed you the other day, & asks me to say that we will have the photograph you ask for done at our expense, & I will get Mansell's to send you a print of the Schaffhausen also.
