From the owner of Tom Cotman & his wife's portraits.
    Old Maltings,
    Waldringfield,
    Woodbridge.

    Dear Sir,
I trust that by now you will have received the Cotman portrait photographs from Howard the photographer. And I really apologise for not having written to you before, and for being so long in getting the work done for you.
I hope Howard's charge will not horrify you. I must confess I was rather horrified myself at having to pay 13/- for an extra print of each I thought I should like to have, and possibly ordered! If you know of anywhere where there would be of interest I should be glad to pass them on and do not really want them.
Howard has certainly made an excellent job, and the actual tone is practical (sic) identical with the originals.
The latter are very slightly colour washed. I have to say the gentleman's waist coat is blue stupid; his face is flesh coloured, and his coat is a light fawn.
