    My dear Kitson,

    The Vasari society is reproducing my Cotman drawing and Popham has asked me to write a note about it. As the drawing is mine I am suggesting that the note should be signed by Popham himself, so long as he approves of what is said.
    Will you be good enough to look it over yourself and see whether you have any alteration to make. I cannot lay hands on a note you sent me about these drawings, and it is possible that you have some idea about the water-colours which were made from them. Please incorporate anything you like in this note, and kindly send it direct to A. E. Popham, British Museum. I am going off tomorrow to Vaison in provence for sixteen days, and Popham is anxious to have this in his hands within the next week. I have sent him a
