A British critic, anthologist and poet, Palgrave was in Great Yarmouth. The eldest son of Sir Francis Palgrave (historian) and Elizabeth Turner (daughter of Dawson Turner, the banker aquainted with Kitson), Palgrave's criticism of poetry was considered to be of sound judgement and was well regarded.
