    the School, Will do his best by a kind word to him on the subject for Edmund, And he said he was sure it wd have great influence with him. Mr. Field looked a very clever and strong minded and true Man, and to be depended upon fully.

    This gentleman was introduced to us, by our good and excellent friend Mrs. Reeve. He called upon Edmund this Morng to see his drawings that he might report upon what he saw truly. And he said he was satisfied, and looked what he would say to Hales on that point on parting. I spend the Eveng of Thursday at Miss Lewis’s to meet a party, Mrs. Reeve of course there. – with leave of absence for an Hour to call on Mr. Field, who lives at Hampstead, I shall do so of course, with various Drawings by M E. under my arm - - and tis hard if I can’t clench the tenpenny.

    I need not say more on this subject.
    A nod to the wise will always suffice.

    I go back to last Eveng again. I left Edwards’, to look out for the Elgin Sculptures. I obtained them, with Skelton’s 2 Vols of Sir Sl Merrick’s Armour. Splendid Volumes. 2 Vols of beautiful Vases. A few trees in the back ground and so forth will make excellent food for our Boys at the two Schools. 1 small Vol of 65 Mounted of Sal Rosa. bound and gilt. Flaxmans Anatomy, (and last of all a Ladys Postscript. The essence of all that went before) – A unique copy. with but one cover. valuable to antiquarians on the acct as cracked china – of not, the Glass Eye, John, But Michael Angelo’s Last Judgment Seventeen plates with title, delicately washed with Indian Ink and the outlines heightened by a no small Beer Artist. is not this a prize? – I think so, I assure you, think as you may, but I need not fear your dissent. – A concise introduction to the knowledge of the most emint painter, a 2/6 thin Vol. The Names, Years, Birth and ages of 2400 Artist for upwards
