    My dear John
    I receivd your letter, But did not answer it by return of Post, as what I must have told you, was already told to both Mr. Turner and Mr. Brightwen, of which I was almost certain you wd learn from one or the other, most probably from both. So far so settled. Your Uncle Edmund will send up the large Drawing of the Hulks, Frame and all, enclose the Nicholas Poussin Drawings at the same time. We are all hard at Work, Writing Driving and Walking for the leaves and fishes for Toddles. If he gets it

    which I sincerely hope he will, and I think he stands a good chance, - if Merit, - Conduct and testimonials most undeniably will do it for him. – Otter Bishop of Chiches(ter), Rose, our New principal, and all the Masters are all alive for him. So is Mr. Palgrave – Maw, will (indirectly) introduce me to the Lord Mayor for him – the Late Ld Mayor – dined with us a few weeks ago I shall call on him and remind him of the honor I did him - - So, so far so good – five or s(?) in thirteen Letters.

    You will please (ask) Col. John Harvey, and Edmund also, if you call upon him for a testimony for the latter – to his Talent for the fine Arts and power of teaching. – Conduct and Character and education, this latter word you will of course leave out. I wrote by this post to Mr. Brightwell and will very soon, to Mr. Bignold or to D. Blackie on the subject of the Blaize. – If either Bacon or Stevenson has said ought in their papers about it, send them up. We are all as happy as pigs in the Straw. Kitty is in Love with London and full of life and fun, she has told her Mother so by a letter to-day franked
