Get good Characters for Miles Edmund Cotman for Talent, and Propriety of Conduct and ability for Teaching, from the Ladies Beckwith, Chapman and Dix, and send them up directly. Tell Geldart – every thing goes on well – from every quarter. We have not been on horseback but in Chariots every day since I have been up. Affectly
    J.S. Cotman.

Kitty look as hefty as a prince. She called with us in a Carriage on Mr. Leak who was most kind. And invited Kitty for a few days when we could spare her. She is delighted with Sunday. Mr. Leak and Mrs. and Miss will return the call on Sunday – this is doing it politely. Mrs. Hicks will have a [frank(?)?] even week.
