    My dear Brother
    According to my promise in my last letter I devote this afternoon to writing. Since I wrote to you, which is a most shameful time, I have been perplexed almost out of my life. So near was I to leaving Potters’ that as a last resource I spoke to Mr. P. himself and told him that I had not had a fair trial, as hoping to be in the Silk room I had neglected to learn anything untill I was properly put into that room. I learned the next day that he was pleased with the manner in which I spoke to him upon the subject and knew well he would not send me off all at once determined to shew that something could be done in a short time the next day I set about learning the Stock of the White (?) rooms and in four days completed it; Last Wednesday we commenced removing, on that night I watched all night and worked all next day untill twelve at night in fact there were about one hundred or more men helping to remove besides a steam hoist to bring the goods from the lower part of the warehouse to the various rooms. last night was the last night of our work for all the goods are removed and in about a week all will go on in the regular way. I found by Arthurs letter you were all adrift and suppose it means from your room in the market place. you must be in a sad muddle, which house are you thinking of taking in St.Giles’ it will be more convenient for you than living in Bracondale for tis a long way to walk to and from meals. Ann has made rather a Short stay at Hanworth. I calculate should she feel inclined to let me know who the Gentleman is and when
