    Wednesday Night.

    My dear John
I really feel quite ashamed not to have written to you sooner but the old excuse must plead for me (no time). Since I wrote last two friends have paid me a visit the first was Robert Dixon who called as he passed through to Liverpool I was so surprised to see him that I neither knew what I said or did for some time he was looking well and on Monday who should I see standing upon one of the Landings of the Staircase but Mr. Stark I was very pleased to see him as you may judge he was quite astonished at the size of the warehouse, he called again the next day for a letter he said he would take to London for me I believe he left this morning. I have heard from Ann once since she left you she must have enjoyed her trip very much. She speaks much and often of our Norfolk[[s]] friends and they are the friends I like to hear of so her letters, amused me much. I wish it were possible to have one every day from some friend or other for Poor Pill garlic wants some amusement. You are I suppose in St. Giles now I hope you have had the old chairs and that old Table putt in your house for when the Manchester Lad comes to visit Old Norwich he will be too large to sit in a common chair or eat off a common table. The other Day when looking over some of my letters I found one written by you when first I was at Potters’. Now there was at the end Hurrah Hurrah who’s afraid now not seeing this in the Hurry of reading the letter it was overlooked it
