    My dear Jack

As I find my last note has not left Town I sit me down to scribble a little by way of addenda thereto - To say I should be glad to hear any news of Priest that you may be able to give: what he may be doing or may have done. Whether you have seen any of his productions and what you think of them. I hear he either has painted or is about to paint one of the Musketts, do you know which? I believe I shall soon be able to judge of his improvement as his portrait of Dixon the iron founder is to come to Town as a present to Dixon here. I have heard he has been at Cross's and has earned all the country round golden opinions if not a golden harvest.

When you see him you may tell him this, as I know t'will please him, and that I hope he does not quite neglect sketching from nature. You may also say I shall be glad to hear from him. Oh by the way when you see Cross ask if he ever received the drawing of his house and whether he likes it? that I think him besides rather remiss in not having sent me word if he does or not. Father has been rather ill the last two days, indeed he kept his bed all Friday - I think though rather in fear of an attack of his old enemy (inflammation) than from actual necessity. He went to the College on Saturday and after dined with Bulwer; To day is better still.

I called on Bulwer on Friday and am glad to find I may go on making drawings for him of Norfolk subjects as long as I can find them so that could I but sell a picture or two I could earn a little pocket money. This reminds me to say - Ask Wrightup to pay you as you want to pay for the frame. then you will have a little pocket money. How is Aunt Susan? Give my
