he is neither a Man or a Gentleman consequently no company for you, I, or any that I would willingly call friend. Truth is the rock we Must stick by, let that be but doubted in your friend and all is lost. I have been told the Lie has been given by you, I hope I have on this point been misinformed, if so this lecture, falls to the ground. The very essence of Friendship is composed of Truth, Sincerity, and disinterested Love. A Nod to Mr. Wise will always suffice.
What a yarn have I spun!!! But Friday is ever a Red Letter Day with me, but with this Lecture you make it as a black Letter one "Honi soit qui mal y pense" is a Royal Motto, for you and for every Man of Honor. My Cigars are exquisite I buy them now of one of three of my pupils Father who serves me well and cheaply, they are sufficient to corrupt a Saint - certainly a Saint John.
We have a nice black Cat and oh Wonder upon Wonders your Mother is fond of her and feeds her to stuffing and all Truth too.
Present my sincere respects to Mrs. Beckwith, don't forget.
