Addressed to Mr. J. J. Cotman.

    My dear John
I write to day (My Lord Mayors Day) merely to enquire about the Tub so long since sent, as usual you didn't say by what conveyance, Mail-Coach Van, or by Trader, therefore have no means by which to make any enquiries here -- is not this very business like a very pretty fellow you are I don't think. A Letter also mentioned by Henry as having been sent more than a week since, not received. In short, nothing has been received here since I wrote you a long letter about going to Windsor. Your Mother, Ann and Alfred and I are now off to see the Lord Mayor Show perhaps the last that ever will be.
The conversazione on Wednesday last went off beautifully. I made up two large Books of Sketches and Designs which were much looked at and praised. J Lewis sayed they were splendid and above all praise. -- I told him I could not color them, fudge sayd he try. And so I wool Yes my dear Sir Most affectionately
    J.S. Cotman.

how got back Mrs Roe and Henry - ?
