    My dear Jack
I can only say a word or two just to convince you "Lifes in the old dog yet". First I wish you would answer Father's last letter as soon as you conveniently can, He is rather annoyed at not having received one. You will not, of course, say I told you this but tis the fact.

Secondly I would thank you to pay Miller the five pounds enclosed and send me a receipt for the same. You will thank him for not having troubled me before.

Thirdly, I am making a drawing of the "British Queen". Have made Bulwer ten small drawings, in proof, ecce signum!! **

Fourthly We are all well and I am obliged to Ann Muskett for her kind enquiries.

Give my love to all who enquire after me and believe me
    Your affectionate Brother
    Edmund.

** Miller will be the better for it.
