having praised myself so highly? tell me what you think of it the next time you write as I should much like to have your opinion upon it. Edmund told me that you had a great wish for a velvet-cap which I will make for you with great pleasure as soon as time will permit, but do you not think that fine cloth would do as well? it will be much less expensive, but when you write send me word about all these particulars and also the size of your head. The Misses Morgan called the other day to hear when my Papa is expected, they will hear of no excuse for paying them a visit.
My paper being very nearly full I will now commence my correction in your spelling and bid farewell for a time to our chit chat. Instead of putting the words here I will send you a scrap of paper with them on. I am very pleased to find that you improve so much in your writing, your letters John are a source of great delight to me. Wishing you all the happiness you can desire, I remain your devotedly attached Sister
    Anne Cotman.
