    I said I did not like the plan but should be ruled by you entirely. I said this because I half expected Mrs C. would give in, she seem[e]d so doubtful of the proposed measure. Will you send also the list of monies can you. The one I copied and left in your acco[u]nt book.
    I send you two letters one from Thompson, Yarmo[uth,] the other from Matchett, that is all the business part. Now pray how do you do? you and John. How many boys had you at your first levee. I will not bother you though with more questions that may be answered at your leisure but stick to the first. What do you think of Mrs C’s proposition?
    I have called on T Bacon as you desired me he was sorry you would not let him come down as he wished.
    I have sent a notice from the Library that the subscription is two years in arrears and unless immediately returned becomes according to the laws – forfeited – shall it go,
