    7 O Cl[oc]k A.M. going to bathe.

    My dear Jack,
You must begin to think I have either forgotten you quite or do not intend to write to you at all at all, by my having so long neglected it. Do not let such an idea however enter your pericranium for I promise you it has not yet done so in mine, only I have had so much to do I could not sit down with pleasure to write unless it was on business. Now, I am I. [blank space] Richds himself again. I am got to work, I am comfortable and I see comfortable looking faces round me. I commenced work yesterday and you can hardly imagine what pleasure it was to me. I had not toutched a brush for four months and it was really a treat. Now what have I to say. Oh. I have been to Mr. Daniels’ to tea and evening, all very pleasant and agreeable. And what is more John I have the use John of ---------- what -? aye what? What do you think? of a horse, at least I shall on the 25th for all the winter, so I shall have plenty of riding, will not that be noishe like? That is the short and long of it, all I have to say, all the news however as I wish to say I should like to hear what you are doing how you spend your time and how amuse yourself so when you have time just fling us a yarn will ye youngun?
Come down on me with a flowing sheet aye even full to overflowing – let it be fuller than full and you will please us well Johnny.
This hardly deserves a return, but nevertheless tis as much for the time as I could manage so good bye to you
    Your affectionate Brother
    Miles Edmund Cotman.
