bah --- I cannot finish the sentence. I thank you for the hint about Gibbs, there you were deuced civil, no go though. Have you seen A. Priest since his marriage or his wife?
Walter is gone to sleep at Thorpe, that his portrait may be finished for Geldart to bring up with him, Ann and Kitty have been in bed this hour and a half, I am tired and know not what more to say.
All these reasons besides it being half past 12 P M tell me it is high time to leave off and go to bed. I have Have you practised any more Norfolk? habor?
I put this in only to tell you that the pencil Case business was all a hoax. Did I not say at the bottom of the letter it was the first of April? I think I did. I have no other news to tell you. I have been doing nothing, for this week[.]I will see what I can do – call in a day or two.
I am nearly sure I should have had them at the other rate, is it not provoking? Well let me get them that is all!!! I have had a second batch at Thurlowes. Miss T. is really more clever than I expected, and very agreeable besides. She puzzles me rather in color, I mean makes me think what I am to do to improve her drawings. You I doubt will find her an awkward one – she sketches, and makes drawings from them – very well.
I am glad to hear of the 5 new pupils at Hampstead – and of the way you were received at Mrs Reves. Morgan is just come in so Good bye God bless you
    M. E. Cotman
