    Mr dear John,
I have just Breakfasted. Cleaned Myself – And received visits from Messrs Dixon and Geldart, who both looked over your Sketches. But as they are going to write they will no doubt themselves tell you how they liked them.
I found all My family quite well.--- My Journey was a pleasant one, it passed between talking and sleeping. I have now caught myself nodding with my pen in my hand, so you must suppose I am rather tired. I shall take a Nap and send this off at once for I am dead tired. So good bye till tomorrow.
    Y[ou]r affectionate
    Father.

They all send love to you.
