    about? do you give it up? It was to be kept secret but then one day it must be known, why not to-day. Edmund Miles is to be married!!! and to a Miss Rix*!!! what do you think of that? I expect he will be married today Thursday as John Hicks is to be in Yarmouth by ten, for what I cannot imagine unless it is to be daddy, and give the lady away.
    Every thing is going on as usual with the exception of french which has been at a standstill for this last week.

    *Tis Martha. Keep up your spirits, John, and draw, do not allow 3 or 4 failures to stop you.
