    /
    Dear Sir
Some time since in a letter to my friend Mr. Dawson Turner I requested him to put my name down for a Common Paper Copy of your new work of Miscellaneous Etchings. I believe I may have heard from him since that time, but am not certain; and if I havehe did not mention my commission- and have assuredly not received a number of the work, which I understand was then on the point of publication. I observe your advertisement in the paper of To-Day, and hope that this application to you may have the effect of clearing up this mystery. The conveyance to me is by Clarke Downham Carrier White Lion St Benedict's - leaving Norwich on Wednesday afternoon.
I think you have a drawing of the font here - which is worthy admission among your Saxon specimens. Have you also the entrance of the Old Manor house - a very early specimen of the revived Grecian - and therefore much rarer, (especially in a Country house). At any rate, and whether any circumstance has delayed your work or not, I shall be glad to hear whether you have me down for a copy. I am Sir Yours Truly Robert Forby

    Fincham Jan 10. 1824.
