    Norwich Jany 13th 1823.
    Dear Sir,
I was much concerned to learn by your Note, accompanying the 4th part of Mr. J.S. Cotman's work on Norman Antiquities, that his health continues in so precarious a state. And I should have taken an earlier opportunity of attending to your request for payment; had not a memorandum of my late Father s relative to the account been for a time mislaid. A renewed search among his papers has put me in possession of it: and from that and your Bill of September last, I have drawn out the annexed statement which will I believe be found correct.
At the bottom of Mr Cotman's letter of Dec. 21. 1820 is a Bill - For 26 Ely Plates 2.12.0
    Part 2 Norman Antiq 3.3.0 2.10.6.
    5.2.6.
To this Mr. Stevenson makes the following reference "I think Mr Cotman has charged me in this article for the Whole of the Prints of Ely Door Way, instead of those which I sold for him only. I therefore only ordered 2. 10. 6. to be paid at Mr. Turner's Bank, Jany 15. 1821. and advised him of it."
Deducting for the Prints herewith returned and taking the allowance on parts 3 and 4 as was given on parts 1 and 2 the balance appears to be 6. 5. 0. for which I enclose a Check (sic) and which you will do me the favour (sic) to acknowledge as received on acct of Mr J. S. Cotman, of whose health I should be very glad to hear better accts.
    I am, Sir, your respectfully
    S. W. Stevenson
