    “Yarmouth. Aug[ust] 6 1804
I have an eminent artist (Mister Cotman) at my house lately, who has made sketches of all the fine views of Yorkshire. They are done in a most masterly manner and I should be obliged to you to tell D Tin his name, that if he want anything of the kind for his work, he will supply him… [D T is [[Townson]], who was writing a history of Yorkshire.]
    ____”_____

    • La Cave - a collection of two hundred & eighty original sketches, in pencil, by this improvident but very clever artist, consisting of Landscapes, Figures, Groups of Figures, Animals, etc. in which his touch was peculiarly flowing, rich & beautiful. In 1 vol with 3 letters of Mrs Eaton, landlady of La Cave, respecting him, inserted “Lot 1033 in the 4th day's sale of the late Dawson Turner’s library, May 16 & following days, 1859 - Puttick & Simpson, auctioneers.
