    To Samuel Woodward
    March 17- 1830.

    My dear Sir,
Mr H Gurney’s conversazion ticket was sent to the Bank prior to the first [[meeting]] evening.
But as you have that gentleman’s permission to use it, I should be sorry you should be excluded from the circumstance of its not having been forwarded to you. Therefore I hope you will find the annexed page a sufficient passport.
But to make all sure, mention the circum-stance to Mr Chas Turner, our President – and I have no doubt but he will have great pleasure to back the admision – and it will then be regular and according to the laws of ye Committee.
    My dear Sir,
    Yours very truly
    J S. Cotman,
[Woodward Correspondence vol IV. No 35. Communicated by W R Dawson.]
