Dear Sir,
As I have some Sketches & Drawings coming from my Father’s - I shall esteem it a favour if you would send to Norwich (directed to Mr Cotman) those Sketches Mrs Turner has done with -
My Tour this summer has been confined to Yorkshire & Durham. The Cathedral of the latter magnificent though not so fine as that of York- My chief study has been colouring from Nature, many of which are close copies of that ficle (sic) Dame, consequently valuable on that account. I shall be at all times happy to shown them to you - Please forward my Respects to Mrs Turner, & believe me, dear Sir, your obedient servant
John S. Cotman
The Drawings I finished for Mr Sayer I believe are at your House. May I trouble you to send them at the same time?
And, still to oblige me further, to send me the impressions of the Cotman Arms you were so obliging as to promise me.
