Addressed to Mr. Cotman St Martin's Plain.

    My dear Sir

Mrs Gurney requests me to say that she had hoped for the pleasure of seeing you yesterday, as your note to her seemed to lead her to expect. Mrs. Gurney did not receive your note till Friday evening, she could not therefore answer it in such time as to anticipate your coming and she therefore hoped that you would have understood she wished to see you. But upon Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, which was the time you named, I think, for your subsequent lesson, Mrs. Gurney would much like to see you at Keswick, and she begs me to tell you that she entirely accedes to the terms which you propose, and to the hours and day which you mention. Her little neice, your future pupil looks eagerly for the arrival of Tuesday morning.
I thank you, my dear Sir, for the little note which you sent me, and I remain
    with sincere regard
    Yours truly. M. A. Turner.

    Keswick Sunday morning.
