Addressed to Mrs Cotman St Martin's at Palace Plain Norwich.

    Dear Papa and Mama
We arrived at Diss very late as you may suppose, and very tired. I think Diss a very pretty place as yet and I have been so well amused, that it makes me like it the more. I enjoy my visit very much indeed, but, I have been so short a time here, that I can find very little to say, thinking in a short time that I shall be able to write again. I left my parasol at the cottage, but you need not trouble yourself about that, for Ann is going to write to Grandmama and she will tell her to send it along with her frock, and hat. Both Aunt and Uncle send their loves to you. I hope both of you are better than when I left. Give my love to my brothers and accept the same your selves, Dear Papa and Mama. I remain your affectionate Daughter
    Ann Cotman.
Be sure and give my love to John when you write, Once more Good bye.

(pencil note) Thomas Cotman (1783 - 1858- aged 75.) Edmund Cotman's 2nd son, became a draper at Diss.
