    Dear Sydney,

    Presumably you will manage to see the Cotmans at Sotheby's (Wed 30th May.) The two in Lot 37 are the most Coney like, hard elaborate perspectives that I've ever seen - drawn as tho' for someone else to engrave & redolent of the camera. There are 3 in Lot 42, several heads of Romanesque Capitals dated 1818. I shall not compete.
