Dear Kitson,
I am ever much obliged to you for your comments +corrections. Now the proofs are in page form , I can't make extensive alterations. I have inserted your corrections of fact but should like to have discussed some points at some length, though in a little book like this I can't go into much detail. I have left the paragraph about the Backwater in a Park, as my view is only put tentatively. I may be wrong but am not convinced at present that you are right. Unfortunately I haven't the material here for looking up [Crome] dates. I forget the date of The [Colour] Tower, etc. + perhaps imagine such works which I greatly admire to be earlier than they are. But the colour & handling of the Backwater do seem Crome-ish to me.
I should certainly have thought that Cheyne Walk was earlier than the Mousehold Heath. [[But you]] Isn't it likely to be the same graph as the (lost?) Twinkenham, perhaps the Hammersmith in the BM? However I have got [illegible 1 word] which may well be insufficiently founded, & your studies have been closer and fuller than mine. No doubt I was wrong about the Brig.
