I took over the charcoal drawing of J.J.C by himself, and J.S.C. swapped 17 Cotman sketch book ‘scraps’ & the large Continental drawing for it. I came back, very contented.

Nov: 28. 1932. Had tea with Mrs Bickmore, 31 Northmore Road, Oxford. Saw her ‘Near St Martin’s at Oak, Norwich’ again. Very pink houses, trees behind. Very much in the 1804 manner- lovely thing. Indigo of sky fled. Cerulean blue of a cloth hanging out of window perfectly fresh.
