Bond St. Feby 24th 1803.
Dr Sir.
I have the pleasure to inform you, that on Wedy eveng you were elected a member of our drawing society — the next meeting will be at my house — 107 New Bond st. on Wedy next at seven o'clock — where we shall expect the pleasure of your company. — I have inclosed a copy of the regulations of the society & remain
Yrs sincerely
P.S.Munn (x)
Secretary —
(x) Note, by copyist. The Name is written Munnj, that is, there is a flourish after the second n, which might cause the name to be read:- Murray. But, on closer examination, it is clearly Munn.
On the third sheet of the paper is written:-
1s The meetings shall be held, on every succeeding Wednesday at the house of each Member alternately —
2d The Member at whose house the meeting is held, shall be the President for that eveng. & shall provide the materials for the drawings —
3 The subject shall be selected by the Prest. & by him given out at seven o clock precisely & at ten, the several drawings shall be presented to him — After which Bread & cheese & beer shall be introduced — & the meeting shall break up at eleven —
and it was found in 1922 that he had started to make some notes on his cousin's connection with the Drawing Society - but these, alas, were very fragmentary.
