    29 Southtown, Gt.Yarmouth. 30 October 1930.
    Dear Batchelor,
I have searched the Minute books of the Friendly Society, or
Society of Friends, between 1812 and 1824, but find no
mention of John Sell Cotman, either as a member, or as a visitor
to this old society. I have also examined the Signature
Roll of members, but he has not signed. The Aldred family
of Yarmouth were connected with the Cotmans, and prominent
members of the F.S., but never appeared to have introduced any
    Cotmans.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Kitson at the R.A.I. meeting
at Cambridge, in 1928, we were staying at Trinity, and he as
alumnus of that great College, introduced us to the Master
when we dined with him. Hope your health was benfitted by
your stay at Bermuda. Yrs. faithfully, RH TEASDEL
