Sept 20. 1930. Met Leney at Miss Littlewood's at
Erpingham. Saw his pictures again; the Jungfrau & the
'On the Greta' - quite outstanding, the rest nothing.
Sept 24. 1930. Went again to Miss Littlewood's with N.D.L.
Went to Castle Museum, lunched Leney, & then he, I &
N.D.L went to Crown Point, where R.J.C showed us things
for 3 hours. He has a w.c of the Castle of Alençon,
like my sepia, dated 1823. ***'The Belfry' is 1831.
'St.Bennetts [Benets] Abbey' 1831. *'The Illustrated Missal'.
    a large w.c. 1832.
Stayed that night with Arthur Batchelor at Town
    House, Brackendale.
Sept 25. 1930. Batchelor took me to 'Riverbank'
Thorpe, (Miss Grace Hartridge) where Edmund
Cotman spent his last few years of his life, &
the scene of 'From My Father's House'. It is a
small semi-detached red brick house c.1820-30.
in the narrow main street of Thorpe. Staircase
    hall about 5.0 wide, & a parlour c 13.0 square
on gd. floor. Parlour window opens on to a balcony.
The ground falls away to the river, the garden
is about 20 feet wide, basement kitchen: probably
