    Sept:12.1930. Called on Mrs Bolingbroke. Ferryside. Norwich.
    Her husband's collection of 'Norwich School Scraps' is
    delightful. Some pleasant Thirtles, & an outstanding
    view of Cromer, w.c (like a Steer) by Rev: E.T. Daniell.
    He has, by J.S.C.
    (1)* A w.c of the Inn at Les Anderlys. (like the V&A one.)
    (2) Pencil of trees & cows under, 'Cotman 1845.' (?) a family drawing.
    *(3) 'Rokeby Park, Yorkshire' . pencil of trees, looks to be after 1820
    **(4) Pencil. 'Trees at Thorp Near Norwich J.S. Cotman 1816.' '388'
    **(5) A fine late sketch in charcoal on grey paper of a ship, &, other
    ships in distance. l. on reverse is written.
    'Philip Vanderdeker & the Pilot Schriften putting off
    from the Spanish Ship the Nostra Sizooca da
    Monte for the Amsterdamer, The Phantom Ship
    of Captain Marriott.
    (6) A Castle, water in front, blue-grey paper,
    pencil, yellow & brown paint in blobs.

    Note on No.5. J.S.C writing to Rev J. Bulwer on J uly

    1. 1839 - describes how he painted an oil 3.6 x 2.6.
      of the Phantom Ship for a prize of 20£ of the best
      picture of a Marine subject, offered by Manchester.
