Something more artist-like is asked for from someone.
Mr. Harriott's sketches of many parts of the
Continent are before me - with the entire
power & perhaps permission - to make
my own. They are very fine and ought
not to be lost to the world. My plan is to
select from these & to make about
10 or 20 drawings, to lay him before the
College publisher, hear his opinions, &
presently, if warranted by his opinions,
for him to publish them.
The prospectus I have not yet found, but
it will embrace views of buildings &
scenery at Orleans, Angers, Tours,
Mt. St. Michel, Nantes, Saumur,
Blois, Amboise, Chartres, Caen, etc
& parts of Normandy, Danube, Seine.'
etc. etc.
I sent copies of those 2 letters to Mr F.
Leney, for insertion in the Book
of Tracings.'
