    Sunday May 17, 1931. Called on Mrs. Barker, 1 Hamilton Gardens, Felixstowe (granddaughter of Lady Palgrave) She has -
    (1) A very early w.c (c.1801) of an old wall, gateway &
    tower, with cottage. J.S.Cotman. 8" x 8".
    (2) The Boleyn Tomb, Blickling. c.1806-7. 12" x 17"
    (3)*** Three Hills on the Norfolk Dunes, near Yarmouth.
    c. 1818 - 1822. 8" x 13".
    (4) The Astrologer based on the etchings of seated man, but without
    figure of woman coming round screen, on r.
    green & scarlet. C.1828 - 30. 9 x 7 1/2.
    (5)** A Normandy Church, Sepia, (?) Briville.
    with inset of pencil sketch of 'effect' & note by
    M.A. Turner about Cotman's preliminary sketches.
    11 x 16.
    (6)** Distant view of a village in Normandy, with
    landscape panorama, cows in foreground.
    11 3/4 x 18. Sepia.
    (7) On the Caledonian Canal. Sepia. (?) if by C.

    A large watercolour, Bp. Goldswell's Tomb, Norwich Cathedral, a very fine drawing, attributed to Cotman, but too mechanical: I shd. attribute it to Thirtle c. 1807-8.
