    Feb 14. Francis set off for Burghwallis & London. The new Carthorse bought at York Fair came.
    March 20. Mr & Mrs Morritt came to dinner.
    — Mr & Mrs Morritt went away.
    April 2 The red Cow calved twins.
    July 7. Mr & Mrs Morritt here in the morning. Mr Scott dined here.
    Aug 8. Mr & Mrs C & their 4 daughters went to Rokeby.
    Aug 8. Mr Charlton accompanied Francis in the Gig to Northallerton from whence Francis proceeded to Rokeby.
    Sept 13. Reaped the Barley (Mr Fox died!)
    Dec. 14 Mr Fairfax & Mr Ann came to prayers.
    — 27 A Poacher taken in Hornby’s Farm at 2 o’clock in the morning & afterwards carried before Mr Rice [parson at Sutton]
    1807.
    Jan 12. Mr Cholmeley & Fr[ancis] went to York.
    — 13 At 12 m[id] n[ight] Fra[ncis] set off in the mail for London.
    July 19. Francis came in the evening.
    Aug 9. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley & 3 younger girls went to Scarbro. Francis set out for Rokeby, Northumberland & Scotland.
    — 21. Mr Cho[lmele]y returned from Scarbro’.
