July 29. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley & the four girls set out for Rokeby Park (1) after an early dinner & dined & slept at Northallerton — Francis rode on horseback.
July 30. ['Mr & Mrs Cholmeley & Francis' crossed out] They all arrived at Rokeby Park to dinner.
Aug: 8. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley & the 4 girls arrived from Rokeby Park, having dined at Thirsk & drank tea with Mr Rockcliffe at Easingwold.
Aug 9. Francis arrived, having ridden from Rokeby Park to the Old Oak Inn the day before, where he dined & slept.
Aug 10. Mrs Cholmeley, Francis Ann['e' crossed out] & Catharine set off for Scarbro.
Sept 18. Mr Cholmeley, Mary & Harriet went to Scarborough.
Sept 25. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley, the 4 girls & Mr Cotman returned from Scarborough to a late dinner.
Sept 27. Mrs Cholmeley & Mr Cotman made a morning visit to Newburgh.
[Note added in pencil in the margin: Sept. 1804 holds the record as being entirely without rain.]
Oct 1. Professor Playfair (2) & Mr Hall came to dinner.
— 3. Mr Playfair & Francis went to Gormire & Byland Abbey.
— 4. Mr Playfair & Mr Hall went away. Mr Cotman & Harriet went to Coxwold & returned to dinner.
