    Sept 5th. Lady & Lord Palmerston, the 2 Miss Temples, Mr Temple, Col. St George, Mr ['& Mrs' crossed out] & Mrs Cholmeley, Mr Cotman & Francis, & the 4 Miss Cholmeleys went to Duncombe Park (3) ['(2)' crossed out] & dined at Rievaulx Terrace.
    Sept 7. ['Lord & Lady' crossed out] Lady & Lord Palmerston, the 2 Miss Temples, and Mr Temple went away.
    Col. St George, Mr Cotman & Francis went to Byland & returned in the evening. (1)
    Sept 9. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley, Mr Cotman & Francis went to Newburgh.
    Sept 10 Mr & Mrs Cholmeley, Mr Cotman & Francis returned to dinner.
    Sept 14 Mr & Mrs Cholmeley, Mr Francis Cholmeley & Mr Cotman left Brandsby ['for' crossed out] on a little tour to Beverley, Hull, Howden (4), Selby (5), Leeds (2) & Wakefield.
    Sept 22. Mr & Mrs Cholmeley & Francis returned home, after parting that morning with Mr Cotman at Wakefield.

    Oct 27. Mr Cholmeley & James Moore returned having parted with Francis on the 26th at N/c [Newcastle] who got safe to Edinburgh that night.
