    Aug: 15. Mrs Fairfax took Mrs Cholmeley to pay a morning visit at Newburgh & then to dinner at Gilling where Mr Cotman & Mr Cholmeley met her.
    Aug 16. Began to pull peas at Oliver's.
    19 Began to cut oats at the far farm.
    Aug 22. Mrs Cholmeley & Mr Cotman went to Gormire, and returned in the evening.
    — 23 Lady Charlotte & Mr Wynn Belasyse called in the morning.
    Aug: 24. Mrs Cholmeley, Anne and Mr Cotman went to York Races.
    Aug 25. Mrs Cholmeley, Anne & Mr Cotman returned.
    Aug 29. Mrs Cholmeley & Mr Cotman went to pay a morning visit at Newburgh, but meeting Lady Charlotte (1) & Mr Wynn Belasyse, went with them to fish as Oulston Ponds.
    Aug. 30 Mrs Cholmeley & Mr Cotman went to Kirkham & returned in the evening.
    Sept 1. Mrs Cholmeley & Mr Cotman went to Easingwold in the morning. (5)
    Sept 4. Colonel St George came in the morning. Lady (2) & Lord (3) Palmerston, the 2 Miss Temples & Mr Temple (4), Col. St George, Mrs Cholmeley, Mr Cotman & Francis went to Castle Howard & returned ['in the evening' crossed out] to a late dinner.
