    I didn't mean to give you this foolish list when I began, but it amused me. My favourites are underlined. If one limited a collection to them one wouldn't do so badly.
    The two Bonington pencil scraps which I allowed to escape to Vienna have come back to me. They are from the same collection as my early Turner. I haven't yet found cash to buy the De Wint you told me of.
    The J S C (?) which I told you of is at the St John's Wood Gallery (St J W High Street). Ask for Mr Jean Richeton, a dear old Frenchman, and mention me. I think he asked me £12. You may say it is Miles or Lound. Don't tell anyone else about the place.
