Dear Sir,
Some years ago I wrote a book called "Dr Thomas Monro + his Circle" which was never published. I have been referring to the MSS. which I have preserved & I find that the very painters whom I thought could be said to have worked under Dr Monro were
F. L. T. Francia, J. S. Cotman, J. M. W. Turner, J. Girtin, John [Dinnell?] + P. de Wint.
Besides these there were men like John Varley, W. Hunt, J. Cristall, Copley Fielding & others who were not exactly students but frequented the Doctor's house for the help they received from the atmosphere and the high principles of art which pervaded it.
